MEOW #89: Turn The Corner

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

MEOW #89: Turn The Corner

Post by benchen71 »

Surprise! Bet you weren't expecting a third Aussie meta this week. This was one of those night-time meta ideas that pop into your head while you are supposed to be sleeping. While it's not like my usual metas, I think you will still enjoy it. The answer to the meta is a three-word phrase.

PM me with your submissions or submit on Crosshare. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Turn The Corner - Online Form
Turn The Corner - PUZ
Turn The Corner - PDF
Turn The Corner - spreadsheet

Kitten
Calico
Persian
Puma
Lion

The nudges are here.
The answer is here.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

Couches, Moats, Castles, Cats. What day is it? Anyway, I got off the couch, crossed the moat, stormed the castle, and freed the cat.

Who knew that cats could swim across MOATS.

The kitten did escape, but was confoundedly eaten by a shark

Odd... I thought @boharr drained the moat yesterday

[insert appropriate metaphoric indication of success]. This is actually my fourth Ben puzzle of the week since I went back and did an older MOAT as well.

Good stuff. Inspired to visit the local Aussie pie shop for lunch.

The cat has left. If it was still July, I would suspect that Ben would be Matt's guest constructor for this Friday.

Huh? Well, I am certainly off my game this week! I think I managed to the the MMM and that's about it.

I'll take a nudge... seriously.

EDIT: Okay, I got it.... How bad of a wet blanket would I be if I said I had never heard of this phrase?
GUAVA is not an anagram of VAGUE and PEPPER is not a palindrome.
