Finally onshore. You know it when you’ve got it (after much swimming in the bay).

6" here west of Philly. Son and daughter in law in Salem hunkering down.
Stay well and stay warm![]()
How about just a picture of some moss - because it has grown on you? Or even a picture of a sunrise, because we (the rabid punsters) are always wishing you a good moaning.
Oh, and 6" of snow is why I no longer live in Scranton, Philly, Detroit or any of the other places north of the Mason Dixon, matter of fact even Jacksonville is cold (41) but of course everything is relative.
It auto-corrected "helpful" to "hurtful".
Anyway, it gave me the opportunity to test the new 'smileys'.

Completely stuck. I seem to always have a mental block with Gaffney number puzzles. Will keep at it while being thankful for sunny mild winter days in the South

Kas - the snow looks frozen on the dogs. What did you do? 1) leave them out hoping for a January thaw, 2) put them in the garage until the snow melted, 3) sequester them in a bathroom while they thawed and you mopped up the water?

I've submitted my answer and I feel pretty good about it even though half of it is a guess. Is there anybody out there I could share what I have and maybe they could help me fill in the blanks.
EDIT: Thanks everybody, I appreciate the assistance. I now feel 100% about the answer I submitted.

Good morning muggles
First thing I want to thank @BarbaraK , @Wendy Walker and everyone else for coordinating the zoom group learning sessions. While it is great to do a solo solve, the frustration of not getting anywhere is worse and these zoom sessions are teaching tools for all of us.
Also if you get stuck, there is always the option to PM someone who is on the shore - tell them what you have done, where you are having problems and they will give you course corrections. Make sure you have your PM notifications on in preferences so that you know when your PM person has responded. If you don't hear back, try someone else. The muggle is not blowing you off but they may be doing something else - like shoveling snow.
As of today we have 21 on the ship and 156 on the shore.
New on the ship are
HunterX
BensMom
Susan G
hunkra

On shore.
(Matt's puzzles seem to be my kryptonite - well sometimes Mike's too - and I feel good when I get one. Though it seems from the numbers that this one was easy?)

Finally....finally....finally on shore. I've been agonizing over this one all weekend. Like many, was two thirds of the way there but made a mistake which once corrected, it all came together. Golf on Friday was fun, golf on Monday will be better. Sorry about the snow everywhere but it is mid 50's here in Alabama today.

Have arrived on the beach without even getting a toe wet, since a patient, helpful muggle allowed me to board their yacht and spoon fed me the steps as we coasted breezily to shore. So, no submission for me this week. C'est la vie -- next week beckons!
Channeling Molly Weasley on a good day.

On shore.
Just writing up what I had done in a nudge request was enough to prod my neural network into the correct meta waveform.
Could that be described as an activity?

Definitely an activity, but “prod my neural network into the correct meta waveform” is slightly more than 11 letters.FKelly wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 1:58 pm On shore.

If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)
