Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? If you can complete the grid, and I've tried to make that as straight-forward as possible, I think you will find this meta on the easy side. The answer to the meta is a three word phrase.
The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

Grid was indeed tricky in spots, but only had one square that was pure guess (a few others that I had to fix upon being told they were wrong). Meta was fun and breezy though. Good stuff, thanks.

Loved the groan-inducing puns. An enjoyable morning solve.

Crossed the moat! I agree, southeast corner of the grid was a little tricky, but the meta was straightforward.
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

No surprise but these guys managed to get through the moat fairly easily.
Thanks for a fun puzzle, Ben!
