"Name That Movie" by benchen71

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? A weekly meta crossword constructed by forum member Ben (aka benchen71). These metas range from relatively easy to more challenging, depending on how many Australianisms he puts in them! Puzzles are posted in a new thread every Tuesday, with nudges appearing on Saturdays, and the solution coming out on Mondays. (At least, that's the plan. Given he lives in Australia, and they are so far ahead of the US time-zone-wise, things may get posted early!)

Welcome to...

benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Here's another meta inspired by trying to solve another meta! Love it when that happens! The answer to the meta is a movie title.

The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Name That Movie - Crosshare
Name That Movie - PUZ
Name That Movie - PDF

Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

MOAT's crossed.
I have to thank solving crosswords for, well, solving this crossword. And Google helped a bit too.
Thanks for the puzzle, Ben!

Fun one, thanks. Needed Google to remind me of something, but didn't take too long to track it down.

Ditto @hcbirker ... I was way overthinking this until I stepped back (literally!) and saw the metanism. Fun puzzle, @benchen71!

Difficult journey (well let's just say I was unprepared for the journey and went the wrong way) but a stunning arrival!

Fun puzzle Ben, count me as crossed.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Crossed the moat.

I wasn’t seeing anything this morning. After doing several home projects that have been stacking up, I looked at it again and the path jumped right out at me. So funny how that happens.

Thanks for the puzzle, Ben!

Crossed the MOAT!
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

Constructed a rather elaborate bridge to span the Moat before realizing the drawbridge was down. Oh well - glad to get one after whiffing on a few others… Thanks Ben!

Thanks for the nostalgia. One of my greatest honors in my career was that I wrote Ebert’s iPhone app back in the early days of the App Store. I never worked with Mr Ebert directly but with his right hand man Jim Emerson. I sent him one build of the beta app everyone was angry about and at first I didn’t understand… I accidentally reinvented pan and scan (the bane of any 80s-90s videophile) in the app while thinking I was being quite clever. Quickly reverted that.

Ebert and I are also UIUC grads and I had the honor of being in his film festival in the 90s down in Champaign.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.
