DEAR CROSSWORD CONSTRUCTORS:

#1

Post by sharkicicles »

Dear crossword constructors:

I love all of you… you have given me untold hours of entertainment over the years, in many cases at absolutely no cost to me, I am undoubtedly grateful. But I have a few pointers for you for future puzzles:

- ANO is a word in Spanish, but it definitely doesn’t mean YEAR.
- The last cars with TTOPS were made in 2002. That’s 22 years ago. Let it go.
- The OBOE Control Act of 1976 actually made them illegal; they haven’t been played since 1982 and the last remaining one was destroyed in 1996.
- OREOs are kinda gross. Don’t @ me.
- Has anyone ever seen directional indicators like NNW, ESE, SSE, etc. outside of a grid?

(Just joking, I enjoy all the puzzles! But these are a few of the things I think of every time I do one.)
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.

[Likes post, then quickly checks current crossword for those words... phew! none of them made it in there!] :D
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

And as it happens, we’re looking at take-out Chinese. (No kidding.) General TSO’s Chicken sounds tempting.
