1. Puzzle #56 recap

Puzzle #56 answer: LEAVE IT TO BEAVER

Correct entries: 52

Image

(Thanks, @BrennerTJ!)

Shortest explanation: Four entries in the grid (FASTEDDIE, WALLYLAMB, THEODORE, and WARDROBE) allude to characters from the 1950s TV show, which is definitely "associated with June" (the mother's name was June Cleaver). Note also the clues at the first- and last-across entries, also pointing in the direction of LEAVE and BEAVER.

Maybe more like a Level 2, since you did have to get those references, which can be hit-or-miss sometimes (I actually had a mini-themeless on Crosshare earlier this year with the spanner of LEAVE IT TO BEAVER clued the same way). And my parents both loved the show, so I might be a bit biased!

2. Leaderboard (this will automatically update...after I crunch the numbers for the last puzzle):

3. This is intended to be the Week 2 puzzle, and if you count Quiara's excellent MGWCC as 2.5 or 3 and this one as 1 or 1.5, I think we basically average out.

57. Product Placement

The answer to the meta is a brand.

Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

:crossed_swords: :rabbit: :cat: Fun! Thanks, Mikey - I needed a confidence booster as this supposedly-week-2 MGWCC is still eluding me.

Solved! Nice and fun.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
