"Cluedo" by benchen71

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? A weekly meta crossword constructed by forum member Ben (aka benchen71). These metas range from relatively easy to more challenging, depending on how many Australianisms he puts in them! Puzzles are posted in a new thread every Tuesday, with nudges appearing on Saturdays, and the solution coming out on Mondays. (At least, that's the plan. Given he lives in Australia, and they are so far ahead of the US time-zone-wise, things may get posted early!)

Welcome to...

benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Sometimes you just have to build a meta puzzle to see if it's even possible. This is one of those. Yes, the grid will have its challenging parts; and yes, there's a lot going on when it comes to the meta. But if you've played the game Cluedo (or Clue, as it's known in some parts of the world), you will know what to do! (If you haven't, then you may need to resort to Google.) The answer to the meta will take the form "X in the Y with the Z".

The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Cluedo - Online Form
Cluedo - PUZ
Cluedo - PDF
Cluedo - spreadsheet

Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Incredible work on the grid!

I think I'm two thirds with the meta but for one part.... wow.

EDIT: Crossed the moat. The third part was almost anti-climactic after the second third (wow, wow, wow) but still really satisfying.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Pretty sure I got 2/3 of the meta. Can’t seem to find the last 1/3 yet! Very fun meta so far!

Update: crossed the moat!

Never played the game so extensive Googling helped a lot. Impressive! Moat has been crossed.

So 1/3 found (the easiest) the other 2/3 escape me. Guess I'll just have to keep throwing darts. Pandora is kicking my butt as well, sigh....
