On the Other Hand

Good morning Monday Muggles. Good morning to ya. We got up bright and early just to how-dee-do ya.. (Only Muggles of a certain age, in fact a lot older than a certain age, will know what I’m alluding to here.)

I went to Lincoln Center Friday evening to see this kinetic sculpture by Es Devlin.
.

.
It’s called “Your Voices” because "each of the work’s 700 industrial ratchet straps represents one of over 700 languages actively spoken on New York from Algerian to Zulu." How fitting for this week’s MMM.

The answer is a language.

The answer is also neither of the languages mentioned above. Even with that nudge, this one is a bit more difficult than the other puzzles I’ve posted here of late.

Thanks to @Abide, @Al Sisti, and @Wendy Walker for test solving and for their suggestions, even the ones I rejected.

You can PM me your answer or go to Crosshare for immediate gratification.
Deadline Saturday 10 a.m. Nudges Wednesday.

Well, I know the answer.

But I wish I knew why.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Off the couch, after Jay kindly directed me away from a deep rabbit hole!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

In the first 24 hours, only 23 people have left the couch. For you statisticians out there, that’s less than one per hour.

Abide (TS)
Al Sisti (TS)
Wendy Walker (TS)
1. Meg
2. Darth
3. Mr Tex
4. dannyvee
5. jbird
6. Hector
7. ChrisKochmanski
8. woozy
9. DIS
10. edestlin
11. Laura M
12. boharr
13. Andrew Bradburn
14. markhr
15. SJMcK
16. Anita
17. hcbirker
18. Ergcat
19. BarbaraK
20. benchen71
21. Tom Wilson
22. dplass
23. Beth Tyrpin

Either I was right that this one was a tad more difficult or a lot of people are out doing their Christmas shopping instead of giving their attention to the important things in life like crossword puzzles. Maybe a small nudge will help.

That glove in 31 Down when turned inside out does not change the direction it travels.

More nudges, and possibly more helpful ones, tomorrow.

Thanks for the nudge, Jay, but so far, I am not helped and am still solidly on the couch. Will wait for future nudges.

Just printed this out, had a distinct sense of deja vu, and realized that I, too, was a test solver! Fun puzzle!
Good luck, fellow Muggles!
