Hanging With the Band
Hey Muggles, it’s been a while! Hope you’re all doing well.
This week’s meta is called “Hanging With the Band,” and we’re looking for a song from the 60s. Oh sure, there was a song or two recorded in the 60s, so it might be helpful to try to narrow it down by first identifying the band who recorded it (although it’s not part of the meta answer). Some may get it straight away, others may need to do some research (your Googling may vary). Please PM me your solution by 10 PM on Saturday, and as has become the custom, I’ll post a couple snapshots of a leaderboard during the week. Feel free to PM me for nudges, but try to stick with it for a couple days first. If nothing else, there’s always Nudge Wednesday.
One correct solver will be chosen at random and will receive an item of his/her choice from my swag bag (a Blarney Rebel Band CD, a Utica Club keepsake, or a $15 donation to a charity of your choice).

Great puzzle! Submitted and waiting...
Edit: Confirmed, and Al tells me that the snow has indeed melted in Utica.

Off the couch and "Hanging With the Band". Multiple ear worms today. At least it won't be just one song going through my head all day.
Very, very fun!

Off the couch and waiting confirmation. I agree with @lbray53 about the earworms and good memories.

As there is more than one song from the 60s and some bands had more than one song.... there's a logical step I'm not getting.
And.... in a meta doesn't one assume.... I'm confused.

Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Not yet confirmed, but I'm pretty sure I've left the couch. (I submitted a facetious but defensible answer of a song from a 1956 Broadway musical.) I didn't think I would be familiar with this band's oeuvre, but I knew, or at least might recognize, the answer song and three others of the ones referenced in the puzzle. I even know a mondegreen of a line from one of their hits.

Off the couch!
Thanks for the puzzle. A fine introduction to a band I didn't know I was familiar with.

🛋. Thanks Al! A very enjoyable walk down memory lane, especially 34A, one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Thank you Eve Arden wherever you are.

I have the band, but not the meta ... but the week is young. (Younger than I, in fact, as I was around when these songs were new.)

I was in a similar spot. There is only one song that works with all of the information in the puzzle. It is actually quite elegant.Tom Wilson wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 4:40 pm I have the band, but not the meta ... but the week is young.
