"Arboreality" by Benchen71
Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Here's a relatively straight-forward meta for you, with one potential wrinkle. The answer to the meta is a six word phrase that is something you can't do, as illustrated by the grid. But because you have to enter a phrase, you have to get it letter-perfect for Crosshare to give you the win. If you're struggling with the submission process, .
PM me with your submissions or submit on Crosshare. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.
Arboreality - Online Form
Arboreality - PUZ
Arboreality - PDF
Arboreality - spreadsheet
Nudges are here.
The solution is here.
And if you missed the announcement, the 1st Pre-release MOAT Pack is now available for purchase here. US$10 gets you a pack of 12 meta puzzles - with PUZ and PDF files - including nudges and solutions.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Crossed. I didn't realize you had to complete the grid before you could submit.
Stinky Pinkies!
My Entry to the May 2024 CrossHare Midi Contest
Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

I didn’t read the instructions above so it took a few tries to enter correctly.

Crossed the moat and onto the beech... not many solvers so far, thought it'd be more poplar - even my dogwood enjoy it. Maybe it's just still kicking their ash.

I guessed the answer before starting. Filling the grid confirmed it. But it took me several tries at Crossshare because I kept entering 5-word phrases till I went back and checked the prompt.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this was a real treet! Moat crossed. I know there are too many puns but don’t bark at me or I’ll lock you in my trunk! Keep at it, I’ll keep rooting for you like the sap I am.
Thanks Ben, fun solve and you won’t believe how I tried to complicate it.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
