That's right, that was the 1980 Boston Marathon--thanks. It was later found that she had also cheated with I believe a subway ride in the 1979 NYC Marathon and she was retroactively disqualified from that.whimsy wrote: Thu Nov 30, 2023 5:02 pmActually it was the Boston Marathon.....and everyone knows how well the MTA runs here....oldjudge wrote: Thu Nov 30, 2023 4:50 pmWith the NY subways it's amazing that she got to the finish at all. She should have gotten a prize just for that. Did she spell MIT wrong on her shirt?KayW wrote: Thu Nov 30, 2023 4:41 pm![]()

I've got an answer that makes sense, but I feel like I'm missing something. Like I skipped a step?

If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Ahhhhhhh… I think I got the little part I wasn’t getting earlier. If not it’s a heck of coincidence but in any case I can’t imagine the answer I have is wrong.

Ashore4us! Very clever one by Mr. Gaffney! The grid was a real challenge for us, but the end result was very satisfying!

Done and dusted! Tougher than usual fill, hit on the meta pretty quickly. Like some others have mentioned, I have a nit that is likely me not seeing something, but 100% on shore.

Ashore... I missed when the puzzle dropped because I was having a Guinness at my favorite Irish pub. So does that mean I can't have one now? Our judges will accept "NO!!!!"

I think I understand the thing folks (who have solved) are confused about (having been confused about it myself). If you DM me a quick description of your puzzlement, I'll send a reply that will probably clear it up.

Finally ashore after several interruptions for newborn hiccups and toddler wrangling
Forgot my drink: Dirty martini with Grey Goose or similar vodka. While I think 007 prefers gin, I too will have mine shaken and not stirred.
