I know Schmeel is right, but I'm gonna go a different route.
What is that Droodle? It's what this guy sees --

Tear along the dotted line?
Ooh, no -- but that works too.
It'd be the answer in an unpunny world (horrors, such a place!)
It's the rear view mirror (when he tries to make eye contact with the driver.)

Quick trip to shore today!
Enjoying the crisp mountain air and holding down the fort with the 2 youngest little ones while others are out on the mountain aka Mammoth mountain, our favorite family retreat.
Glad this week was such fun and not too hard as we have a jigsaw puzzle waiting!
Just for fun, here's a cute brain teaser for Presidents' weekend:
1 Lincoln
+ 2 Jeffersons
+ 3 Roosevelts
+ 4 Washingtons
+ 5 Kennedys

Cheers!
Hot cocoa please!

We used to go to Mammoth every year, in the summer when it was cheap. Nice crisp air in the morning, never got too hot. The kids enjoyed the volcanic rocks. And we'd usually work in a trip to Bodie.

The grid tied up my ribbons in knots. I had a hard time getting on Patrick's wave length, then I spotted something that helped me unravel the longer answers in the grid and I was able to wrap up my ribbons properly and swim to shore.

Sometimes they don’t have them on holiday weekends. Maybe that’s why?

Oh, my it just clicked in my tiny little brain and 'aha!' I was there feeling the warm sand between my toes. Shocked! Pleasantly so.
I'm so stunned I don't even know what to order at the bar. New York Sour? Local brew? A smooth-sipping añejo? I'll figure something out.

This week's contest is titled Back and Forth" by Patrick Berry
The answer to this week's contest is a ten-letter word.
Good luck with the grid and the meta

And congratulations to Al Sisti on being the Grand Marshall of the Utica New York (AEIOUY) St. Patrick's Day Parade.
And he is not just a pretty face. Here is the writeup in the Utica paper. A very well deserved honor
Alex Sisti, described as a key figure in the opening of the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley, was announced as the parade's next grand marshal Saturday. But he almost didn't accept the position.
"After they told me, I spent the next few days trying to convince them that it shouldn't be me," he recounted in an announcement released Saturday. "I finally wrote them that I would accept it if it was still offered."
Besides his work with the Irish Cultural Center, Sisti also served as a committee member of the Great American Irish Festival from its inception, even chairing trash-pickup.
"Al, through his efforts, has given back to our area in many ways, especially for our Irish community,"former Grand Marshal Patrick Costello said in the announcement. "In fact, it would be hard to think of any Irish initiative in the past 20 years that Al did not have a role in."
Other roles Sisti has had in the Mohawk Valley's Irish-American community include recording secretary of Ancient Order of Hibernians from 2007 to 2010, a member of Irish culture organization Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and co-founding the Mohawk Valley Irish Cultural Events Newsletter, event organizers said.
As a local musician, Sisti has also promoted Irish music with performances with The Blarney Rebel Band. He has also had stints with Justice McBride Band, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Les Brers and King Kool and his Royal Blues, organizers said.
This is fantastic! Congrats Al!!

Looks like I will be off the podium again this week. I haven’t even looked at the puzzle yet.
Congratulations to this week’s medalists:
@Wendy Walker
@C=64
@MatthewL
And the luck

of the Irish next time to
@Al Sisti
though it appears he doesn’t need it.

Clever puzzle but I don’t think I can give it the currency it might deserve. Too many variables.

Or God’s Dog Inlet Hotel,
The beach tis resit!
And with that I say,
To those who know my weird way,
Ashore! Now whiskey!
