Waiting to do a meta? Now that is love!

Yes, it is ❤️… but hard to wait! Happy to say we got it done and it was a fairly quick swim to the beach!!! So happy to spend time with my daughter!

Wonder if Mike Shenk thought about making this one a Marie Kelly special for Saint Patrick’s Day.
I’m still irritated at the forced name change tbh

I *liked* Marie Kelly.

I'm still at the bar with Isaac. I've got the first part done, and I'm not sure if the inability to get further is from lack of diligence or lack of cleverness.

ETA: Aha! Just had a little of the sweet post-enlightenment. I am now firmly on shore. I can just chalk my earlier struggles up to spot blindness.

I have found out that my preferred answer is wrong, and I'm being put on a tender heading back to the ship --

Sorry DrTom -- we're looking for a "nine-letter, two-word phrase"...

Comfortably at the bar with Isaac who has suggested I order some hare of the dog.
Thanks a bunch, Isaac!

Parenthetically, the best puzzles are the ones that you solve on Friday. Challenging enough that they take a day to figure out, but not so challenging that your weekend is ruined.
I get that opinion...but I'll argue that the best "A-HA Moment" is at 11:57 p.m. on Sunday, i.e., by the skin of one's teeth, and with mere moments to email the answer to Schenk & Co. (And my heart is oh so very heavy for you Page One-ers who will never know that frantic joy [insert crocodile tears here...lol].)

Seems like we need another Kas Scale - for Aha Moment measurement?

Ashore! Quick dip, so the ship must have been close to shore. Appreciate not having to “Ederle” this one!

Ashore and happy to be there.

As to the gradations of the head slap, suggested above, I offer as a starting point:

The Hair Pulling Out
The Head Banging on Wall
The Despairing Walk Around the Block
The Lying Awake
The Walking Away and Pretending to Ignore
The Vow to Take Up Macrame Instead of Metas
The Head Slap

On the top shelf, over at the starboard side. That's my drinking cup, Isaac. Fill 'er up.
