Funny how the mind works…it came to me in my sleep, to try something when I awoke..and it worked. I am solved…

I see what I am certain is the "BIG CLUE" but all attempts to put in practice have gone nowhere. At sea for the first time in a while.

Didn't get this one right away and I'm out-of-town for the weekend, so doubt I'll get there. On the ship!

Paddling very hard and near the shore. Have the perfect answer and see how it fits nicely.... but having trouble making the final AHA! connection. Will stare more and hope for some divine intervention. But just.... can't... quite... touch... the shore... yet....

Ashore!

Or, rather, distracted. Babysitting and meta puzzling are not made for multi-tasking.

On the shore, shootin' dirty pool and spewin' dirty lies.
I need to go back and finish the "why, exactly?" part of the meta but the answer I found fit everything perfectly..

Ashore after a short visit with Isaac. Solved it while listening to my husband tell a story over breakfast. I wasn’t even looking at the puzzle when the metanism magically materialized. As soon as he walked out the door I made a mad dash for the puzzle.
Just solving the grid made my back hurt remembering how heavy the slate was on an old pool table of ours. We sold it with the house!

I would not say that was the easiest meta. Toes in the sand with a Diet Coke until more serious business later.
Very fun.

Well that was fun! And to me, it was easy and 100%. It's weird how that varies from week to week - many times I've been at sea, not seeing a thing while everyone else is on shore saying how easy it was.

Just got to this this morning, before chaining myself to my computer again. When I say work is crazy…. yup.

To impress upon us kids what a privilege it was to have a swimming pool in our back yard, my parents made us clean the pool cover every spring. We'd spread it out on a hillside, squirt dish soap all over it, soak it down with a hose and then skate across it in bare feet with long-handled brushes. It was so slippery that within minutes we'd be soaking wet and covered with worm guts. Then we had to dry the cover and fold it up before it killed the grass underneath.MaineMarge wrote: Fri May 27, 2022 6:20 am
No dirt left behind here when the guys finish cleaning the pond every spring
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

On shore. Eagerly awaiting the Monday explanation (which likely won't be the same as mine).

Ashore. Another 2:30am solve. Couldn’t bear waking snoring hubby to tell him the mechanism. Had to rely on my own memory to recall it in the morning. Fortunately I did.
Clever mechanism. Guess the official answer will appear in Tuesday’s paper?
Remember the fallen.
