My printout & delivery person (aka spousal unit) failed on both counts yesterday. I solved the grid online but something tells me I need the puzzle page as well. So won’t start this until tomorrow.

ashore4us! Very clever and but a bit tricky for us relative newbies. However, thanks to a nudge from a muggle friend, we experienced the ever so pleasant "AHA!" A very nice birthday experience.

I can imagine that some people will figure out the correct answer without seeing all of the mechanism. And doing that would leave one a bit uncertain. But with the whole thing, I'd say this is a 100% no-doubter.
