Cross-eyed and worn out,
Rabbits, herrings, roundabouts.
Ashore with a stout!

Ashore with a stout!
One world. One planet. One future.

Taking the boat to shore. This one took longer than last week, but I will never be a "page 1" tenant. I'm too much a "put-down-pick-back-up-later solver." Whenever I think of timing crosswords and "aha" moments, I always think of the two great scenes in "The Imitation Game:" When Miss Clark solves the crossword in less than six minutes, and when in the bar Alan Turing realizes he knows the mechanism for breaking the Enigma Code. Great brief movie moments!

That was like pulling teeth but I am ashore, once again with help from my husband, a reluctant WSJCC participant!!!

I have come to realize that the moniker that I chose when I joined this group is not conducive to being a solver. I should have chosen ashore4u.

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

I was more worried that you were going to play sea-monitor & drag meta-scofflaws back to the boat!ship4u wrote: Sun Mar 06, 2022 2:48 pm I have come to realize that the moniker that I chose when I joined this group is not conducive to being a solver. I should have chosen ashore4u.

On shore, needed a nudge again, I liked my approach to the meta even tho it was incorrect. Will share tomorrow

Feeling the pressure. I could complete the grid on my phone, but I could not find the Meta until I had a chance to print it out and that was not until Sunday afternoon. Grateful to have figured it out. Longest streak ever!

Phew! Didn't think I was going to make it this week after chasing the white rabbit down WAY too many rabbit holes, but thankfully I'm out of Wonderland and ashore.
...Remember there are worse things than a shattered chandelier...
If you see I'm ashore and need a nudge, feel free to message me.

On the beach.
Had the answer early but took a bit of hunting to confirm.

While dancing at the Tiki-bar, we received this on the ship-to-shore. Have at it, shore party.

Pretty cool. I like some of the archaic words, such as 9D.Commodore wrote: Sun Mar 06, 2022 5:06 pm

But I have to point out that the website is kind of quirky. It doesn't skip over the letters already filled in, or jump to the next clue when you complete an answer. Those crossword web apps sure were different back in 1917! Glad our websites work better today in the 2020's.
