Well, seems like there's only about 4 of us non solvers so it might not be all that interesting...
IMHO, 4 is a great number for a group solve - better than having a few dozen. Everyone participates, and things don’t suddenly move so quickly that some get lost and end up just handed the answer.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Update: after a nudge, I'm ashore. Not going to submit though.

Thanks everyone!

Well then, that was mildly irritating. I knew exactly what I had to do, OK not EXACTLY but pretty much, and I still had a heck of a time. I'm wondering if my brain is overloaded? I'd suggest taking a break but I already gave up (now hold you breath) liquor (not alcohol, I'm not a savage!) for Lent so I have to have something to anticipate with joy and longing.

The wife is about to disown me what with solving and writing these I am away from her almost as much as when I worked. Good thing I am taking her on a trip (God/Covid and International aggression willing)

Hmmm, maybe I need to take this approach to help me solve....

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Just finished the grid, a bit of a slog. I'm still on the ship with Isaac and a few others. Have an idea about the mechanism and will try it later. As for now, time for a walk or a nap, then dinner.

Update:

Exercised, had dinner, watched some hockey and then pursued my mechanism idea. After an hour long fruitless chase,I realized I was chasing a wascally wabbit and took a break. I have spent 2 more hours staring at the grid and am definitely lost at sea. That's enough for tonight. Time for bed and will try again Saturday. A very humbling experience. G'night muggles!

Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Ashore after another great zoom gathering with fellow muggles! I'll have one scotch, one bourbon & one beer.

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

I think I rolled both of my ankles navigating a veritable minefield of rabbit holes, but it's good to be ashore. Cheers!

With @ship4u on the group solve. Thanks everyone for the guidance! I still like the rabbit hole I moved in to. Very cozy and warm.

I think I may have found two red herrings that set me back a day. I am with Isaac, completely clueless, except for the obvious one that Mike gave us. Weather is too nice to spend much more time on it, but I will keep it on the back burner and maybe I can find a bigger brain, too. I miss The Far Side.

Ashore. I was concerned when I read Thurman8er's post about having the mechanism, but not having time to solve.
Perhaps a metronome is required? It helps dancers and musicians alike keep good time.
