After chasing rabbits all over the world, I finally saw what I was missing. Like many of these, it was very hard before it was very easy.

I never can get over the way you don't see it until you do see it.

Similarly, that last sentence doesn't make sense until it does make sense.

I thought we were going to stare at this all weekend, but instead we are going to loll on the sand with a tropical drink with a little umbrella on it.

Drove out to Newport Beach today to see some family. It was a lot of fun, but an hour and forty minutes out and over two hours back in rush hour. I think I sucked down too much exhaust fumes because when I got back and looked at the puzzle I saw nothing. Then poof it was all there. Nice job by Mike but forget the Guinness I need a bourbon.

Mom wouldn't let us swim after eating, but I started this after a big plate of curry goat (appropriately cosmopolitan fare). Got ashore with no cramps!

Aha - on shore. Pretty much what I thought was going to happen, just took a while to find it. Nicely done, Mike!

In the lounge with Isaac - so many rabbit holes to dive into, none of which have lead to anything yet.

I'm onshore after chasing red herrings down a rabbit hole for a while. Good puzzle, as always!

On the way to fly fishing in the Indian Ocean. Got the meta right before takeoff from Doha and submitted. Will be completely off line for 10 days and maybe when I reconnect there will be an email from Mike? One never knows

Fun grid and meta

Stay well all

After traveling with a 9-hour time change, I got to this puzzle quite late, and with a lot of jet lag. I had the right idea quite early, but I struggled with how to properly implement it, but now the clouds have parted and I am safely on (a foreign) shore.

On the beach! 🏖 🫖 with Stash Pomegranate Raspberry Green Tea

In the end, I enjoyed it! Yesterday spent about 20 minutes solving the grid, about half an hour working on the meta. Pretty sure I knew what to do, got about halfway to shore, but it was making my head hurt! 🤕 Glad I waited til this morning to finish and got the rest pretty quickly.

Happy Friday!

My two tar-heel sons (and prolly the Duke-hating Wolfpack one too) would join me in saying, we actually would be okay with throwing a victory Coach K’s way in this historic “last” except for the fact that Carolina is on the bubble. Regardless, props to coach K… a respectable man going out with dignity.
The other Wendy.
