It took us 90 minutes. If we had started at 4pm Thursday (EST), I could have posted on page 4. That is worth a celebratory tipple!

Ashore. Remarkable - both the puzzle and being ashore.

Ashore. Gently muscling my way to the TikiBar for the usual Monkey and tonic. OH NO they're out of the Monkey! Try the Gray Whale instead ... not bad.

Ashore. Was out to sea last week, went down the wrong path, but was much clearer this week.

Sat down to work at 8:30. Solved grid and meta. Loved it but I’m nervous that the path was so easy.

Anyways, I’m Ashore!

This is a special for @Wendy Walker and others that are not interested in the Super Bowl.

Here are some of the things more unusual things you can bet on - these are called props so you can impress your spouse/significant other who thinks you know nothing

Will the Super Bowl MVP be a QB or a player from another position - you can bet by player or the field ( odds 1-3 it will be a QB and 2-1 it will not)

Will an offensive lineman score a TD (odds 20-1)

What color Gatorade will be thrown on the winning coach (Orange 2-1; yellow, green or lime (3-1); blue (4-1), clear/water (5-1); pink 8-1) but the shower has to be on TV

Will the game be a "Scorigami"? A score which has never been one of the 1072 scores in any NFL game ever (and I can see @DrTom putting this in a MMM) - odds are 12-1

Whether either coach will use all six timeouts in regulation (McVay for the Rams 3-1; Taylor for the Bengals 3.5-1)

Will either team score a TD the first time they had the ball (about even for one team and 11-1 that both teams will do it)

Longest TD pass (over/under is 42.5 yards)

Shortest TD pass (over/under is 1.5 yards)

Length of the National Anthem (over/under is 97.5 seconds)

First song performed at the halftime show (odds are California Love)

Will Snoop Dogg smoke on Stage during the halftime show?

Number of players with a passing attempt (over/under is 2.5)

Number of times the chains are used for measurement (over/under is 1.5)

Which will be greater the shortest TD or the number of rounds in the Derrick Lewis-Tai Tuivasa UFC fight

What will be mentioned first during the Super Bowl MVP speech (team; city/fans; god/religion; family; coaches; owner)

Will a player propose after the game

What media company commercial will air first (Meta; Amazon Prime; Google)

What Crypto Company will air first (Crypto.com or FTX)

Which Anheuser- Busch brand commercial will air first

And there are probably many more but you could casually mention that you put $100 on one of these bets to shock everyone.

On shore, struggled with the grid but got (what I hope is) the meta fairly quickly. Jim Beam on ice awaiting me at home when we finish babysitting the grands.

But then, I was happy to solve the meta on a Thursday on page 6!!!
I’ve read many folks start with ADIEU, so that would have given U__E_.
Today’s Wordle not unimaginable from that perspective?

On shore. I put this into the “A little too easy” category. Took longer to read all the posts here than to do the puzzle.

Been skiing all week out west in Montana. Just finished today and it was very icy. So the thought of my toes in hot sand is welcome. No minibar in this airport hotel. Just get the coffee ready for an early flight.

Don’t usually watch the Super Bowl. Hoping there’s curling on. (Yes, I’m one of those who got hooked on curling. My fiancée says it’s because I like cleaning and thus appreciate all the sweeping.)

Absolutely Bob! We usually begin this crossword Friday dinner time and it too often lasts through Sunday. This week’s was a gift - I can now get on with some outdoor chores tomorrow in 60deg weather before the snow on Sunday!
