My normal strategy is to play something like ANTES followed by OPIUM and then sort it out from there. This time I started with a completely different word and got lucky with the three greens. If you've solved this one, you know there aren't a whole lot of words that follow the pattern X..XX. I waffled between XXyXX and XXzXX and lucked into picking the correct one.

Pretty new to this.
I'm not sure how much of solving these is luck and how much is skill.
If you get correct letters on one row do you have to use them in the following row or can you choose other letters to increase the chances of finding another correct letter?

Was going to guess the right answer at turn 2, but figured no way would that be a word they would use, and then repeated that same mistake at turn 3. Guess I was wrong -- it was a word they would use.

I feel it's a little of each -- a bit like life.
And you can play any way you like as long as you don't throw sand at the other kids in the sandbox.

I didn’t notice that, but yes, I am playing in hard mode. Maybe I should toggle it off tomorrow and see if the asterisk disappears.
