Don't count on it. So far as I can tell no-one has found that half mechanism and I'm now joining the crowd that believes it does not exist.

I just figured out a connection to the "missing half". If it's not right it should be. Count me on shore with lots of ear worms as others have mentioned.

On shore-not with an AHA moment, but rather a D'OH moment. Still--the unease that others have expressed remains.

Still at sea. Clearly missing a lot....

UPDATE: Got it. Not sure about how title fits in but 100% otherwise. A few more brain cells down the tubes and only 16 days more of dry January! Cabana boy - Virgin Colada!

Had a muggle (whom I won't out) present a very cool "2nd half mechanism." Looking forward to their exposรฉ Monday. It isn't needed & my guess is it's unintentional, but it's wickedly clever of the muggle to find it.

Iโ€™ve been ashore since Thursday afternoon when I first read the title and the prompt. I just didnโ€™t realize that I was ashore. Now I can prove it.

Like everyone else, I was pretty sure I knew the answer at first glance. However, it took me a while to figure out the mechanism for half of the answer. But that was enough to confirm I was right. I submitted my answer, but I'm still working to get the other half.

Finally ashore!!

On shore, I had to wrestle with the mechanism, but it feels right so I'm going with it

Sipping a candied pecan Shiner and am close to the shore but can't say 100%. Had an idea who it was before the hunt, like so many, but found the first mechanism and was not satisfied that's all there was to it this week... Like so many ๐Ÿ˜‚. Am submitting something slightly different off a hunch. I'm leaning away from 'the obvious' but can't prove my theory... YET! Message me if you want to bounce ideas for a second mechanism/and or clues. My parents and I have some strong feelings about those other 5 letters that are eluding others.

No clue what the title referred to (again!) until someone posted a comment and then it clicked. I join the "half solved" club. Still looking for the other half...

Late start, but quickly found my way ashore once I solved the grid. Good restart to January after last week's wipeout. You never know when something in the grid will grab you. This week it happened right away. Other weeks...

Bob's Excel worksheet was very helpful this week.

Iโ€™m at the place the map says is โ€œshore,โ€ except I canโ€™t see past the crowd to determine if thereโ€™s a beach. Sโ€™okay, Iโ€™ll take it: Isaac needed a break from my bad poetry readings.

Iโ€™m ashore! Jumped in the water as soon as I saw the clue and solved as I swam to the shore.

Now you've done it. Just when I thought I could put this to rest and enjoy Sunday doing something else!!!!

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!
