Well, I have found a disconcerting number of suspicious "coincidences" that I thought *must* be clues to the meta, but after reading everyone's comments, I wonder if they're just my brain looking for patterns.
Still stuck.
Still stuck.

Just as I predicted!
I had nothing, nothing, nothing, and then BAM. The clouds parted and there was the answer.
It's ridiculous how much satisfaction solving these tough ones can provide!

Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Not sure I’m even eligible to sit at the bar, because I’m sitting this one out.
You can’t fail if you don’t try.
Did I get that right?

Am ashore after being rescued and resuscitated. Washing the taste of seawater from my mouth with a Chimay Grand Reserve. Cheers to all the Muggles at the party and to those still struggling!

I have done one or two of the MMM, and one of the MEOW. My main problem is that annoying thing called "work," which cuts into my meta-puzzle time quite seriously during the week. I intend to solve that around March or April of this year. May at the latest, I hope. Depends on how quickly I can make a break. Been working on it for several years now.CPJohnson wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 10:05 amThe MMM, MOAT, and MEOW aren't for-sure harder than the WSJ....some are easier, some are not. But they all offer nudges...MMM nudges come on Wednesday, MOAT nudges show up on Friday evening (Saturday in Australia), and MEOW nudges come on Saturday. And, if you want a really quick process, log on to pandorasblocks.org/season1 (or 2 or 3)....you can print a puzzle, work on it for a while, then look at the solution to confirm your answer or learn the error of your ways.

Count me ashore, and count me among the forehead slappers! I stared at this one way too long before finding the "simple" part of SAD.Joe Ross wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 9:36 am To me, a sign of a SAD meta is the solving rate of muggles. Some get it right away (& may think it "easy"), then other solvers trickle in, slapping foreheads.

When you see it you *know* you have it. Made it to shore with a nudge after going down several of the rabbit holes. I think there is a real gift to offering help without giving it away. So I feel good about solving.

On shore after way too much effort. If I had been a little more thorough early on, this might have been a breeze.

On shore, but only due to some friendly nudges. I won't be submitting, but good luck to the rest of you!

Ashore, finally! Didn't think I was going to get it this week. I felt like "duh" once I finally found the right rabbit hole. Good luck Muggles. Now, where's my vino?

Have been without power from early Monday morning until late afternoon today due to the heavy wet snow taking down thousands of trees. So I have been looking at this one as time permits. So far, without results. Lots of holes, but so far no rabbits. Keep the Bulleit flowing, Isaac.

We have a very less than elegant answer therefore I think we are still at the bar.
