I Got It!! What am I supposed to say? Aboard? Ashore? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™ve been lurking for 6 weeks or so, trying to figure out how this contest crossword works. I thought for sure Iโ€™d never get it. So excited to say, I finally got one ๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy weekend everyone! Iโ€™m sure it will be at least another 6 weeks until I can crack another!!

Been a while since I've been on this cruise with y'all. Happy to say I'm on the beach, ready to be rid of the Virginia snow.

Welcome, Puzzled 1! If you've solved, you are "ashore"! First get a drink from the tiki bar and then start introducing yourself to your fellow Muggles.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

Based on my survey, and at least 70 people with Isaac, I will be in the zoom room at 4 PM Eastern today for further analysis of this toughie.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

I was scared when I saw the topic since I lost interest in basketball as a child when I couldn't understand why the ball came out of the basket. It took me forever to see what to do but I hope it is not a spoiler to say that it is much less hard than first appears.

@Abide I will be there if two things happen 1) I get the snow cleared and 2) I have not caught any of the rabbits I have seen scurrying down the holes.

Inspired by @Bob cruise director's current avatar, I am rededicating efforts to solve this apparent, classic SAD puzzle, to earn the right to beg for a tall mug.

An early Friday update before I fire up the snow blower.

First a welcome to our newest muggles - ORHman and Puzzled1. great to have more muggles

We have 7 (and counting) on the ship and 36 on the shore. I agree with Joe Ross about it probably being SAD (simple and devious/deadly/deceptive)

Hopelessly at sea. Uggh -- not the way I wanted to start the new year, but I see nothing. On the positive side, got the Wordle (tricky one today), so that's something -- day's not a complete failure.

I will be on the Zoom call but will keep my mouth shut unless requested. Some might say it would be worth tuning in just to witness that.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

However last week all 3 contestants missed Lennon & McCartney in Final! How is that even possible? That's like, Jeopardy 101.
The Final Jeopardy music goes by really fast when you're on the stage and can't get that first wrong idea out of your head.
Seems to be spoken by one who has been there?

I chased a clue I thought was *it!*
...but I don't think it's right.
I then fell down more rabbit holes,
But there's no beach in sight.
I tried to change my pen to see
If that could shed some light.
But nope, it didn't help a bit,
Them rabbits are a fright!
It's fine, I'll only sulk a bit,
per usual, at sea.
Perhaps another pot of joe
Will shed some light for me?
Till then I'll keep my fingers crossed,
And offer up my plea:
PLEASE let this be Kas 4 or 5,
And not a d*mn Kas 3!

On the beach. Itโ€™ll be an Irish coffee for me (after an hour of shoveling snow).

Still on the boat. Went down a couple of "that has to be it" rabbit holes that gave me a bunch of gibberish in the end.

Still looking....

I was in the same boat (ship?). Keep looking!
I'd like to respond to these, but even the most benign and innocuous of remarks can be a hint.
