Fun puzzle and happy to say I'm ashore with a Belvedere gimlet in hand.

What a year! We had a covid scare this week and thankfully that's all it was since we tested negative. Saturday January 1 will bring us our 6th grandchild and we can't wait to meet him! Life is good and we are truly blessed.

Cheers to all and stay safe out there, fellow solvers!

Did the grid but couldn't make sense of the meta. Then realized I forgot to look at the prompt, which turned out to be helpful. Now on shore! (And in Kauai, so literal as well as figurative).

I am just solving this after returning from our 48th Winter Bananaversary, a reunion of my Boy Scout camp staff from the '70s. I am happily ashore, two Martinis and several good and reminiscent laughs in. Happy 2022 and happy TV Time, everyone.

No, just a hug...
Happy 2022!
To you, and ewe and U2
on shore with you,
alone this puzzle i could not do.
my age has shown
but luckily you remind me i don't have to do it all alone.
here's to more puzzles in 2022,
maybe next friday i'll be the one
to get you to the beach
so neither of us has to admit defeat!

thank you for bringing me into the puzzle world this year, and teaching me how to approach the metas. each week i get better at them but this week was just way out of my league!

Was on a false lead at first, then saw some of what I needed to see. After sleeping in, I woke up somehow knowing the answer even though I didn't know I got there. Sure enough, when I looked at the puzzle, I saw the path and the answer.

Ashore.

With a huge amount of googling, I believe that I have made it to the shore.

Ashore.
Relaxing late last night, no grid in front of me, ta-da. Go figure.

May you all manage to keep your glasses at least half full of whatever makes you happy!

OK, finally ashore! Took a couple of wrong turns, thinking I โ€œknewโ€ what to do before taking myself off the wrong path.

Iโ€™ll save my drink for this evening - not sure Iโ€™ll make it to midnight. Happy new year, everyone!

Tell the cabana boy - indoors after New Years when he sobers up. Outdoor January 6 or when the weather permits.

I had no idea there were rules. Why did my parents not teach me??
