Still waiting for inspiration. Battling a bought of something or other (nothing serious) and just can't think through the fog. I'll stay in my cabin for now.

Wow! This one has been a tough nut for me to crack. Not sure if I'll have time to solve it due to the Christmas holiday. I don't believe in cheating by using "group think" or "nudges" so I might just have have to settle on enjoying a swim in the Ocean instead... Oh well, Merry Christmas all!!

WSJ is working on their technical issues. For now send in your answer to crosswordcontest@wsj.com and put your answer in the TITLE

Good Friday morning muggles.

An interesting challenge by Mr. Shenk. So far we have 5 on the ship with Isaac and 97 on the shore.

Good luck to all and have happy holidays

I don't need it unless it's got the meta embedded. :D
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

On shore. Easy one, with the gift of 20/20 hindsight of course.

I got a late start on this due to vacation hangover running into Christmas madness, but now I'm on shore. Now I can bake cookies in a happier frame of mind.

Finally got a chance to look at it after doing the grid yesterday.

My relegation has boosted my meta-mojo.

On shore for a pleasant change.

Still hanging out at the bar, have looked for the meta between prepping for holiday dinner, but not even rabbit holes. Sigh. Merry Christmas everyone

On shore! I woke up this morning thinking AHA! and immediately knew the PATH. And yes, that is a gift! 😍

Count us among the "still on the boat" group. Had expected the younger minds to swoop in and solve this in a snap, but they're puzzled as much as we are. Let us see what the next days will bring...

Many find that clearing cookies & cache might clear up that issue. I've also read that trying another browser may work. Of course, it could be a WSJ problem.

You've got the best solution, no matter the cause of the onsite form's failings: Email with your answer in the Subject: line to crosswordcontest@wsj.com.

Ashore after a brief detour that might someday make for another Christmas-related meta. As my wife is from MN I was hoping to celebrate with a batch of Tom & Jerrys, but alas the pre-mixed batter is nowhere to be found here and making it from scratch is too complicated. Will just have to figure out something else to do with rum and brandy...

We were looking forward to a sunny, warm holiday here in central Arid-zona, but wouldn't ya know, it's rainy and 55, with showers expected through Christmas Day. No worries, we will have a wonderful time. Happy Holidays!

On shore, but only after swooping into Brooklyn to bring my favorite kiddo home for some yuletide revelry. Season's greetings and sincere gratitude to all for regularly brightening my days, regardless of whether you're even aware of your positive and (occasionally profound) impact on this humble correspondent. Have a safe, meaningful, relaxing and guiltlessly hedonistic holiday, please! At the very least, that opens the door to a "heavy pour" and double desserts; adjust the recipe for personal taste.

Pour me another, Isaac. Not seeing even a rabbit hole. I'm frustrated - have been doing these for several years but don't seem to be improving. I need a remedial course.
