On shore! Embarrassed how long it took me to finish this meta! I had all the pieces/info, just didn’t figure out the last little trick until way late. BEER ME with anything resembling a good brown ale!

Just started this morning and agree the grid was tough. Safely on shore.

I’ve been planted in the bar with Isaac since yesterday afternoon. The grid was a challenge and I’m seeing almost nothing. But I do love the way he makes a cappuccino

Ashore! Tough grid that I finished this morning. Meta is fun and took me more than it should, but not as hard as the grid. Hmmm. Maybe a Upland Dragonfly IPA for lunch!

I like the ones where the AHA moments can be logically derived. I liked this one.
GUAVA is not an anagram of VAGUE and PEPPER is not a palindrome.

Dear Miki, It has been hinted to me more than once, and by more than one person, that I am overly competitive. But I for one want absolutely no part of this Sunday night buzzer-beater challenge! Count me absolutely out! IXNAY! NO WAY!Miki wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 8:57 am Tired of being on page 1 all the time?
What's the fun of solving and submitting the puzzle before 4:20 on Thursday, and having nothing for the rest of the weekend.
Here's a challenge: what's the latest you are willing to start the puzzle. 11:40pm on Sunday night? How about 11:49 (you know who).
You can read all the comments in the meantime. Worry about how hard it might be. Imagine the number of rabbit hole you might encounter. A weekend filled with thoughts, worries, and anticipation.... Wow!![]()
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

On this Occasion of a good Friday morning muggles, we are presented with an interesting and fun challenge by Mr. Shenk.
So far, we have 6 enjoying their morning with Isaac on the ship and 88 basking on the shore - a couple of them are starting to 13D at Meg's cabana boy based on the comments

Ah yes. Improve with age cookies. My mom is baking a red velvet cake today for our party tomorrow. My husband already made his mom’s prune cake. We have cookies: peanut butter, maple black walnut, lemon ginger, chocolate mint, coconut macaroons.BarbaraK wrote: Thu Dec 09, 2021 10:21 pm That was fun! I'm onshore, checking the pantry and making my grocery list to bake @Cindy's Mom's Improve-With-Age cookies, which I learned about from the report on one of her previous Christmas parties. They're perfect for shipping this time of year, when you never really know how long it might take for a package to arrive.
And if you want dinner and not just dessert:
Beef tenderloin with horseradish
Smoked salmon
Pimiento cheese sausage balls
Artichoke collard green dip
Turkey Chorizo fundido dip
French onion chicken
Kofta meatballs with dried cherry sauce
Mushroom croustades
Apple Gorgonzola croustades
Caviar deviled eggs
Julia Child’s chicken liver mousse
Cheese, charcuterie, marinated olives and lots of fun accompaniments

I made it to shore.
For the first time in .......well......let's just say more than a month.
I'm impressed with the cleverness of the puzzle and as usual, once you solve one it seems obvious. But as I said, that hasn't happened to me lately
Good luck everyone and Happy Holidays!

Ack! I started late, found grid a bit challenging. And still not seeing the meta! Based on all the comments here, I know I must be overthinking ! Think I’ll take a break with Isaac and take another look later.

On shore.
If you can't be on Page One, might as well follow a post that includes a list of goodies such as:
Pimiento cheese sausage balls;
Turkey Chorizo fundido dip;
French onion chicken; and
Kofta meatballs with dried cherry sauce.
Good luck everyone!
