On shore. The grid was a killer, and then I hit a wall that repelled me. So now I needs a few beers.

On shore!

I did not get some of the recent ones that others did (I suppose I'm a day late and a dollar short on so many), but I was able to figure this one out.

Wendy Walker wrote: Thu Dec 09, 2021 5:54 pm OK, now that we are past page one, we NEED TO KNOW all about the Florida in-person meet-up between Dr. Tom and CBarbee!
LOL. I knew I would be driving to FL (my route goes through Jacksonville, Dr. Tom's haunt) and thought it would be cool to meet the pun-meister. We did meet for coffee, and I confirmed that Tom is what he appears to be in the Tuesday video meet-ups -- clever, witty, intelligent, and thirsty (although, in wanting to keep me safe for the rest of my journey, he declined my suggested change of venue from a coffee shop to a bar . . .). We both share a strong like for bourbon and wine, so it was a natural!

I now have things to "hold over" him, which I intend to leverage for future nudges.

Noodling on this. I didn't find the grid to be too bad. Only had to look up one word to confirm. I am part way there and I'm certain that my aha moment will come at breakfast tomorrow morning.

Ashore. Fun and blissfully quick after weeks of multiple deep rabbit holes.

Stay well all

On shore.

That was a tough grid. It was a nice puzzle in that I didn't get it immediately. I took a few wrong turns, read the comments here, then looked back at the puzzle and got it. There are no spoilers here; I simply needed to look away from it to clear my head.

Ashore! G & T me, barkeep!
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D
