I solved this one on the way home, which meant that my poor beleaguered husband, who was driving, was a captive audience and had no choice but to listen to me explain exactly how it all worked and how very clever I thought it was.

Just getting off from my, you know, Actual Job (which is not Doing The Meta...would that my work were more Gaffney-esque, but alas...), and my thought for the moment is that there should be a handicap system for those of us who will never make the Solvers' Page 1.

I acknowledge that this assumes I would actually make Page 1 anyway, and based on the last 4 weeks, that's clearly a fallacy.

But I can dare to dream, my fellow Muggles...DARE TO DREAM!!!

ASHORE, and based on the formula above, I can consider myself toward the bottom of page one! When I retire some day, maybe I can do the puzzles when they release, and be on the ACTUAL page one sometimes!

Enjoyed the grid and the fun AHA moment too! The phrase describes me way too often (my dad says this all the time), but I try not to let that get me down!

I'm safely on the beach...just had to sleep on it and it all came together quickly this morning.

I'm struck by the weird memory from being a teenager when 17-A was a big hit, and every time they'd play it on rock radio and do the back announce, the DJ would always turn the artist's name into a phrase, "Lou Gramm from Foreigner". I would hear that and think - who could possibly be listening to this song on a rock radio station right now and hear that voice and, even if you didn't know who Lou Gramm was, not figure out who he was?

Hoping to come up with the CORrect answer on the flight, as I might not have any MORe time. I'll have more importANT things to do like celebrating an early Christmas with the kids--and a certain grandbaby!
