Is anyone else having trouble viewing the puzzle online? I am getting a paywall asking me to subscribe or login to view the full "article".
Edit:
It's working! I was so worried

Here's the direct link to the PDF. Maybe that will work.
WSJ is having a promotion today. Non-subscribers can access the site, but they do have to create an account. Maybe the puzzle got caught up in that? If you have any interest in the paper, it's a good chance to check it out anyway.

ok, finished the grid... good luck, everyone!
On shore, I think. There's an inconsistency that is nagging at me. I'm going to submit what I've got, so feel free to DM if you agree, or if you think I'm off base.
EDIT: The elegance I was missing was pointed out to me (thanks LesY). All is right with the world.

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. Mark Twain
The @Wendy Walker Rule: The valuable real estate on Page 1 shall be reserved for "on shore!" announcements, in order to allow the maximum number of triumphant solvers to share the happy news that they have made it onto Page 1. The ONLY exception shall be the Cruise Director's announcement of the week's puzzle. Violate it on peril of my wrath and shunning from other Muggles.
Cant help but notice what is painfully obvious. That doesn't seem to get me anywhere! Hopefully at some point this weekend it will click. Staring at it for over an hour has brought me nothing yet...
Well, since this is page two....
Unlike others, found the grid easy and flew through it without a google.
Stumbled into a rabbit hole that I probably won't be able to leave. It almost works, can't be a coincidence, I can see the answer and it makes sense, but it doesn't work. So hard to let go of an idea.
Iโll be interested to hear about the inconsistency some are mentioning. I donโt see it, but maybe Iโm missing something. Seems tight in multiple ways.
