So, the sub-meta is an eight-letter word that describes Al? This could be fun!
Still with Isaac and will be after the noon nose count. Still hope, but stuck on an answer that is far from 100%.
Cheers.

I'm surprised that so many regulars are having problems this week. It came to me pretty quickly. I think I know the reason but won't reveal it until after the deadline as it may be taken as a spoiler.
It's funny how the brain works. There are many weeks when everyone gets to shore by 4:30 Thursday and I'm still searching for rabbit holes on Sunday night.

I found this one very straightforward (or at least there are many clues that tell you what to do), surprised by the difficulty rating. But then again, there are metas that kill me and people are swimming ashore at a leisurely pace.

Still on the ship here. There's only one thing I see that stands out, and I can't get away from it.

And just in time for the noon roll call, there it is! Bye Isaac and shipmates, I'm taking the next shuttle to shore.
Now on to MGWCC. I had nothing on my first look there either.

Friggin' Gaffney must have been cackling around his cauldron while concocting it. I'm torn between genuflecting in his presence or throwing a bucket of water on him, should we ever meet.
Looking forward to muggles' reactions, post-reveal.

I've got nothin' and I'm growing tired of tunneling. Instead I will spend my afternoon working on rooting some cuttings from my over-abundant herb garden. Marge, I will have them ready to transplant into the stern garden as soon as I can!

That was a nice break from the WSJ and the PGW this week.

Sorry, missed the roll call,

wow, suddenly I woke up, under a tree on the shore, wondering if this was all a dream.

It's weird reading how some people got this one quickly, but are struggling with the MGWCC. I got the MGWCC in about 25 minutes, but have been staring at the WSJ grid for almost three days and have absolutely nothing. Not a clue. Something here is just not on my wavelength.

Well I really THOUGHT I had it, everything seemed to be pointing me in the direction of a solve, I was feeling so smug that I was oaring my way to shore when all of a sudden my boat sprang a leak and because taking on water at an alarming rate. No doubt it is the water from the cauldron Matt was dancing around while cackling (that you Joe for that picture which I will not be able to wipe from my mind - of course I have him in a pointed hat) and which I would gladly toast him with and roast him with. That man is diabolical!!! I have an answer that I get by inference from the little I DID get of an answer from my mechanism and come 11:30 I'm posting it and throwing myself back in the water, but this one has taken the wind form my sails.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

So, it turns out my inferred answer was correct (verified by a mugglemensch) and even though I still cannot make my mechanism give it to me I am declaring myself ASHORE. I can't wait to see the WSJ final answer.
So now it is time to MJWCC myself so I can complete the weekly double-barreled trichotillomania (it is a real thing honest!)

I’ve got some good ideas about what to do, but no solid answers yet. Did the grid on Thursday and put it down until today. This was apparently the wrong week to wait until Sunday!

Methinks I have passed my drink limit at the bar (is that even possible??) I've gone down one rabbit hole so far, I fear the Killer Bunny of Caerbannog is right around the corner. Tell my family I love them...
