Words of Encouragement

Formerly known as the “Sunday Summer Substitute”, editor Cap'n Rick now takes the helm for 'Smooth Sailing Sundays'. As The Commodores sang about Sunday morning, the SSS will focus on easier metas. SSS will also support smaller grids and will mentor new constructors on request. Puzzles released each Sunday around 8am Eastern. Nudges released same day at Noon Eastern. New constructors are welcome.

The Cap'n asked for a Sunday puzzle and I accommodated. He took one look at it and said, I like it but...apparently it was WAY too Tomish for a Sunday. So he worked his Captain magic with layout and fill and you have before you the MUCH improved product. It still has my fingerprints pretty much all over it, but they have had most of the smudges removed. (I asked Cap to clean up my fingerprints and he said he would give it a whorl, luckily he was not too ridged and did not end up in an endless loop!)

All of us marvel at Cap'n Rick and his ability to snatch order from chaos, all the while uttering encouraging words.

This should indeed be SSS level, though I surmise some will get it MUCH quicker than others and some will struggle because it is one of those explicit/implicit things I seem to like so much. But, there are nudges available and of course we are both at your puzzle solving beck and call.

If forced to give it a rating I'd chose:

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

Sssolved! And happy… well, you know:)
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

SSSolved! A nice finish to my vacation week.
Have a happy day, and tomorrow as well.
Bespoke nudges available upon request (if I'm on shore, off the couch, in the castle, petting an un-bagged cat, ...).
Let me know how small or large a hint you want, or hit me with a specific question(s).
