When I saw what was going on, I thought this one would be a cinch. Indeed, The Smarter Half, who is waving a G&T at me and urging me ashore, tells me it is. The mechanism seems obvious to me, and it seems to fit the prompt, but applying it gives me no Aha!, so there must be something else.

Ahoy, Isaac!
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Ashore. Very parcheesi meta. Saw the process half way through grid but didn't have time to go back and cross off all the options till today.

If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Forgot to post that I'm ashore. I'm not a constructor, and have no desire to be one, but a rabbit hole I was in gave me an idea for what I think would be a good meta.

Ashore! And wishing I really was on a tropical island as I look out the window and see snow falling...

Ashore! Grid was tricky but had fun with the mechanism. I certainly did find what was missing through solving! I think a glass of wine might be in order🍷

Well, that was embarrassing. I've made an appointment with my optometrist tomorrow morning.

Ahoy, barkeep! A dry martini, if you please. I got enough wet wading ashore.

My "work"? I'm recently retired; I have no work, certainly none to check. I did, however, check my recreation, and it was incomplete. I need more practice at recreation.
