Ashore but needed a nudge. And I’m glad I asked. Too many weeks have gone by with no solves.
Thanks @ship4u!

Byrdy wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 9:30 pm This is my first WSJ meta. I solved the puzzle OK, but then had no idea where to find something politicians do. Eventually got there, but I think I now owe Relic a milkshake. I still haven't figured out the swimming and the beach and the drinks, but it all sounds pretty fun.

I'll be in Stamford in April for the first time in over a decade, so maybe I'll see some of you there.
Welcome to the group @Byrdy. Glad you made it to shore! Thanks for posting!
Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Very late start this week due to being on vacation celebrating my birthday, but a quick swim to shore once I sorted out the grid. Joining everyone on shore with a hearty cheers to 29!

Wow! I was totally over complicating that - one rabbit hole kept me busy for a day and a half. Finally on shore!

For our back extension, we made leaded glass windows to match the rest of the house, with antique glass I had collected from old windows.

You do leaded glass? I did a few leaded glass windows in my youth, but had more success with copper foil.

I did this window for my daughter's grade school as a gift for a retiring principal in 1985. The design is a composite of drawings from the kindergarten and first grade kids. They had it hanging in their entryway for 25 years - but they closed the school a decade ago, and I got it back. You can see it in the background during my Zoom calls.

That is a wonderful window! I was wondering what that was in the background on your zoom. I agree that copper foil can be very rewarding.

Thanks -- and oh, yes -- I went through a lamp phase, too. The hardest part was getting good bases and hardware. I even lucked on to some beautiful pieces of antique glass from the 1930's at an estate sale from a craftsman who was retiring. Hard to cut, but absolutely gorgeous. Except for that school window, most of my work is now displayed in the basement. Here's one of a matching pair --

Ashore. Under the weather, decided to throw in the towel on this one. Needed to celebrate getting a quickie Dr. appt. tomorrow, so decided to take one quick look at the puzzle. What a fabulous decision that was! Stumped last week, I sure needed that.

Saw nothing. Maybe this? Nope. Still nothing. Isaac is great company... then finally found it. I like it. Muddy Water Porter for me to get the Super Bowl started. Good luck to those whose team is in the game!
