I keep thinking of SpongeBob: Now,Gary, we can do this the hard way or the easy way. Or the medium way. Or the semi medium easy hard way. Or the sort of hard with a touch of awkward easy difficult challenging way.

Is that made with apple whiskey?
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

Well, can't really say I'm still on the ship since I hopped off long ago when I saw what was clearly the path.

But working on it off and on over the past 48 hours has only given me a taste of what the answer could be -- most of the bits and bobs might be there, but the some assembly required bit has left me continuing to bob.

Fascinating reading this week, it has been a long time since there was this much controversy. I saw the 1st answer, then submitted the second answer and now see how one might consider a third, but it would be a "what made you go there?"

In the meantime I have been "muleing" around. Trader Joes' had some of their Triple Brew Ginger Beer so I had a Moscow Mule on Wednesday and figured, "well, what about a Tijuana Mule for Thursday". Today I had a Kentucky Mule (Buffalo Trace) so tomorrow perhaps a San Juan Mule? So far I think I like the Tijuana one best but hey I'll keep trying. I mean I have an Edinburgh Mule and a London Mule yet to try. I guess there is a Carolina Mountain Mule if I can get some white lightning....anything for science!

Monday should be interesting to hear the explanations and the recriminations...all in fun of course.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

What’s all this talk of 2nd and 3rd answers ? I got an answer that seems 💯 %? Guess we’ll see on Monday. In the meantime, I’m stuck at home due to a snow and ice storm yesterday here in SC. Hopefully it will melt by Monday. South Carolinians do not know how to drive in this and everything is closed.

Ashore!
For real this time! I finally got out of the rut I was stuck in, and this answer seems very solid.
I'm not sure about any third answer, but I eagerly anticipate the post-reveal discussion.
Bespoke nudges available upon request (if I'm on shore, off the couch, in the castle, petting an un-bagged cat, ...).
Let me know how small or large a hint you want, or hit me with a specific question(s).

Unbelievable puzzle! Thanks Matt. And thanks Don and Cynthia for the course correction.

I’m declaring beach and look forward to Monday discussion to see if it is the right shore.

Finally ashore. I can't believe I had to pick this up about 4 times before I got it. I think I was trying to avoid thinking about a certain thing.
Seems like 100% to me too.

Ashore, and there is a VERY clear 1000% confirmation.

There are some other options if you go astray at the end and don't see the confirmation, but one answer is clearly correct.

OK, I'm gonna submit what I think is the clear answer and declare myself ashore. Will await Monday to find out what the controversy is.
