Bobj wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 9:54 am I join those still on the ship. Can't even figure out which deck has the gangway this week. Any nudges welcomed.

Edit: Found the gangway (I think). Still can't get all the way to the exit. I seem to be mis-reading one of the signs.

Edit 2: This *looks* like an exit to the shore, but it might just be an entrance to the bowels of the ship.

Anyone willing to confirm my answer?

Good Sunday morning (I think it is still morning but not sure if I set the clocks right)

For our newest members, rather than sending out a general call for help, it works much better if you send a Private Message to someone who has solved telling them what you have tried (even if it is all rabbit holes) and they will get back to you with suggestions.

So far we have 14 on the ship and 138 on the shore.

Enjoying Isaac's famous Sunday brunch are

While making their way to shore since yesterday are

ladybird
joe

Also don't forget the Last Call zoom session tonight at 8 pm. There you will get expert help with a big smile. Use the Muggle Zoom Room tab at the top of this page.

Ashore.

Found the metanism and answer without too much trouble on Friday. But, as with others, not exactly sure how the answer fits the title, though I can think of way that it does. Held off on submitting while I thought about it. But after seeing others with the same concern, submitted.

I have a guess at the first step but it’s not leading me anywhere. If anyone wants to send me a nudge would be good to know if I’m on track.
Always happy to provide a nudge if I’m ashore.

Late to brunch but it was delicious nevertheless. Thanks Isaac. Lots of staring at the completed grid but no clue how to even begin.

Well no mug for me. I threw in the towel and was put out of my misery thanks to a kind muggle. I had it all right in front of me and just did not see it. Literally in writing on the paper. Major head slap.

Stay well all

For those who are struggling with this one, you're probably overthinking it. Just stick to meta solving basics. And if you're close but it doesn't quite get there, double check all your work.

I'll be at the 8PM zoom this evening, and I'll be mostly online for the next few hours if anyone wants to PM me.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Ashore with BarbaraK’s hint / confirmation I was on the right track. Got 5 letters and then figured it out. Thanks again!

I'm on the ship and will probably join the Zoom meeting this evening. However, I'm still working on it.

Thank you! :) No spoilers, but keep an eye out for tomorrow's LAT crossword too - you might see another name (or two) that you recognize.
