Ashore! A Guinness please. First Friday solve in a long time. Nice puzzle & clever meta. I don't understand 38 across (maybe some one can explain for me?) and not sure I agree with the clue for 50 across, but could be some wiggle room there. :D

Sounds like too many people crowding the sand; someone has to keep Isaac company - reckon that’s me again

Declaring ashore. What I've got cannot be coincidence. But it seems disappointing to me, lacking resonance and elegance. Perhaps (probably?) what I've got is wrong, but the odds of this being coincidence seem immesurably small. Anyway, I'm already into the glass of Cabernet. And have already submitted, so no sense in fretting.

In my case, S is for swallowing my pride and admitting defeat on this one (while selfishly hoping the meta fairies will honor my humility with one of those post-post enlightenments), as I really can't afford to spend any more time on it this weekend.
What little I have was shown to me by a co-worker. If I couldn't even see that on my own, I'm not sure I could find my way off the broad side of the boat, much less get to shore without so much help that it wouldn't be fun anymore.

I haven't spent much time with Isaac lately, so I guess this is a good time to catch up.
Bespoke nudges available upon request (if I'm on shore, off the couch, in the castle, petting an un-bagged cat, ...).
Let me know how small or large a hint you want, or hit me with a specific question(s).

Happy Saturday morning to all!

You may have heard that there was a lip sync competition at the Unionville Community Fair last night and that your substitute cruise director and her sweetie participated, singing "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart." Well, WE WON!*

* There was only one other act in the adult division.

Here we are in action:
