emergin to enjoy Isaac's splendid brunch are

ladybird - who was on the ship all along but I thought that she was the one behind the binoculars on the shore finding a life bird
Tom S

Don't forget the 8 pm ET zoom call tonight. @hcbirker (heidi) is primed to lead the discussion again and @Wendy Walker will be there to emote when a muggle gets on the right path.

And there is always a PM to someone who has the answer in case you can't wait or can't make the zoom call. Tell the person you are PM'ing what you have done and where you are stuck. Even if you have nothing, not even a good rabbit hole.

I have what I'm pretty sure is the answer. I'm just wondering whether there is more to the metanism or not. This is cool, but an extra click would definitely be neater.

Ashore, but only because I was towed there by Wendy. Mad at myself, because I had had a good idea but applied it incorrectly.

Definitely ashore. It's always easy when you luck into seeing the metanism. Always difficult when you don't. Such is life in the meta world.

I've been busy moving loads of boxes etc., and didn't even get a chance to look at this until last night. And then I promptly fell asleep while working on the grid (it was only 8:30!) :o
Finished the grid this morning (falling asleep early meant waking up with plenty of time before church), and after a couple of false starts, think I found my way.
Like @burak, I'm wondering if there's more to the metanism to make the total click, but a reply from @Wendy Walker got me to a point where I'm willing to claim a spot on the beach. I guess I'll find out later if it's the right beach.
See you at 8pm...
Bespoke nudges available upon request (if I'm on shore, off the couch, in the castle, petting an un-bagged cat, ...).
Let me know how small or large a hint you want, or hit me with a specific question(s).

Started (and finished the grid) yesterday, but have been staring at the meta all night and this morning.

I'm a veteran of these contest crosswords, but could really use a hint. Thank you in advance!

UPDATE: I think I got it, thanks to a nudge from @BarbaraK !

Ashore - Ghost Block 2023 Sauvignon Blank Morgaen Lee Vineyard - Oakville District. Pronounced aromas waft immediately from the glass with just-ripe peaches, lemon, grapefruit, and honeydew with subtle notes of jasmine.

Well, it all just clicked!
I am happily ashore - after setting it aside on Friday thinking I wouldn’t trouble myself by worrying about it over the weekend. Glad I couldn’t resist taking another look today!

Add me to the list of folks on the ship. Some weeks you get the meta; some weeks the meta gets you. Seems like I’ve been in the latter category an awful lot lately.
