Woohoo, page 10! Put me in the dinghy with "I have an obvious answer but don't feel like I've done enough". Maybe I'll join the Zoom meeting today, if these algebra students doing an exam on Zoom ever finish; they have spotty internet and keep getting booted out or losing their camera feed, which defeats the purpose of proctoring the exam.

I just finished the grid, and if I'm not ashore, I've been "pageanted!"

Yes...I too feel that I have an answer that's defensible but then again I feel like I might be getting the wool pulled over my eyes and gosh knows it wouldn't be the first time for sure, but still, my answer makes sense but boy wouldn't it be the PAGEANT of all PAGEANTS if, indeed, there was more to it, so now I'm just staring disconsolately at the finished grid, waiting for something more...clever? Proof-worthy? A-Ha Moment Inducing?...to come to me, and somehow lacking that, "Oh Yes I am ABSOLUTELY Submitting This Answer" kind of surety, though in absolute fairness I've done that before and STILL gotten it wrong, but to be clear, it's certainly well within my bailiwick to just overthink the living snot out of it, and let me tell you--whoooboy--the rabbit holes that I will construct out of thin air and agita, well, they'd make you wonder about my sanity that's for sure, and you probably wouldn't be wrong, but then again, if you've gotten this far into this random mash of run-on nonsense, then we really have to ask who's the crazy one ammiright, I mean, pot calling kettle and all that, seriously. In short, I'm not happy with my answer yet.

Ashore. I fell for the crossword version of the hidden ball trick or would have finished much higher.

I kind of stumbled onto shore this week, without the usual insane rush of a distinct "Aha" moment. But it was still a fun puzzle, and as always an enjoyable Zoom with the friendly Muggle crew!

Ashore. Had been waiting for more of a "click" than I was able to find, but was unable to find it so went with what I thought was the answer on Thursday.

On shore...we think. Or we may be floundering in the surf. In either case, it's time for a drink.

On shore. I can't decide which body of water to swim in though.

Got it right away, but I was waiting for some sort of final confirmation.

My 2nd time doing the Meta! I've been doing the WSJ crossword since 2018, if I recall correctly, but I just tried the Meta early this month on vacation.

A great way to start the weekend - spending time on zoom with Muggle friends!! Thanks, everyone!
Don & Cynthia

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

From the Friday zoom crew, pretty sure I didn’t get pageanted. The pagan teddies are still on the drawing board.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.

Missed the Zoom call, forgot about the puzzle until now, filled the grid with my wife, and came to the hope-it's-not-too-obvious answer. Ashore? Sure hope so...

Alright, can’t think of anything better so I’ll join all the worriers on shore.

What a gloomy bunch, not quite jubilant but not quite sure we should be here. Bourbon will lighten the mood!

I am with most muggles. I have an answer which matches up with what others have but there are lingering questions. So I am on the shore or on a deserted island. Or on the back of a whale.

I'm sure this can't be a pageant because we are told to submit a 5-letter proper noun. There's no way Mike could print a result like "99% of submissions gave a particular 5-letter proper noun but didn't do these extra steps to get a less obvious 5-letter proper noun. This week's winner is Weirdo McWeirdpants from Waco!"

On shore following an air rescue by the Zoom group from the shoals of overthinking that my boat had run aground on.
