Count me on the ship with Isaac this week. With a couple of kind nudges I was able to find out that I was much closer than I thought, but still with a couple of key errors that kept me at sea (and that I’m too lazy to search for at this point).
Always happy to provide a nudge if I’m ashore.

Solved it thanks to zoom group. Never would have come up with that meta. I was way off with what I thought could be the meta. Not going to submit since I didn't solve on my own. Thanks again zoom group!

Good evening muggles

A very enjoyable zoom call tonight.

Our final count is 20 on the ship and 159 on the shore.

Good luck winning the mug.

The bad news is that I have a not so good potential answer. 😕 The good news is that my memory of the grid entries (lying in bed at two thirty early Sunday morning thinking about it) was perfect. 😁 At my age, I’ll take it!

My it’s late but Mr Onaquest came up with something and we dragged ourselves to shore. It’s been a while.

Finished the grid Thursday but have been lost at sea since. But took one last look after coming home from a great concert (Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit) and the fog parted. On shore just under the wire.

So… I thought the only two clues starting with the word “One” (8A and 28D) were the key, and that the four theme clues (all well-known pairs) guided me to look for other famous pairs in African Great Lakes and other Smurfs. With the help of Google, I found Victoria and Albert lakes, but couldn’t find a well-known pair in the 109 Smurfs that Wikipedia didn’t want me to print! … All a waste of time as it turns out.
This hole got me Snappy, Enamored, Paranoid and Table-Eating (really?!) all at the same time! 😜

🙄

Should I know "Handy Smurf"? And I'm familiar with Wanda, but the movie is what, pushing 40?

Feel like they should accept just about any 4 letter word with an explanation of the approach taken.

Please @hcbirker tell me you did “star trek” names in the graphic just to make star wars nerds mad.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.
