Ashore and relaxing on the beach. It's getting crowded. A bottle of red? A bottle of white? Perhaps a bottle of rose' instead...

Nice to have one of these once in a while. There's been a lot of heavy lifting lately. On shore!
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Ashore.
Yeeps. I didn't think I was that late but the beach is already mobbed.
Delayed a few hours in a local money museum. $1M in singles. Dang. I knew I shoulda brought a bigger purse.

C-notes are a bit more portable.

As a side note, I can’t for the life of me understand 56A… obviously completed the grid but had to get that answer by completing the down clues to backtrack it in there.

If you Google it, apparently it is an expression, but one I’d never heard of beforeDaveG wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 8:41 pm As a side note, I can’t for the life of me understand 56A… obviously completed the grid but had to get that answer by completing the down clues to backtrack it in there.

Yay, it's a relief to be onshore after last week! H will have a Raspberry Lime Rickey, and J will have a Yakult Boba Tea!

Scarily cheesy. I'm submitting although the fear I'm being lead down a garden path is really really high. But I figure if an answer is entirely justifiable ... well, it would do me any good, but I can pretend to not feel stupid when I don't get it. .... But... doesn't feel great. For one it doesn't really make too much sense.... it makes *some* sense so I can't rule out my answer but... phoo.
I'll have one of the 21 bottles of Pinot Noir I bottled today...
Wait... no I won't. I want to age those and it's way too hot. A gin and tonic. Simple drink for a simple meta.

Ashore! Late start but cheesy paddle —- especially after last week. Lots of water down here in south Texas. Good to be on dry land!

On the beach. Not feeling very well today, and it took me a while to look past a particularly tasty rabbit hole!
I'll take an Old Fashioned, thanks. It's the shortest day of the year Down Under, and it's quite chilly, too!

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

"Thank you, ma'am" is what you say when the jalopy lurches over a big bump in the road and you've got your kidneys and fillings returned to their proper locations. Heard it a lot as a boy in dirt-road country. Don't know where it comes from. Just rural idiom, I guess.Aragorn wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 8:52 pmIf you Google it, apparently it is an expression, but one I’d never heard of beforeDaveG wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 8:41 pm As a side note, I can’t for the life of me understand 56A… obviously completed the grid but had to get that answer by completing the down clues to backtrack it in there.
