Puzzle #87 answer: GETTYSBURG ADDRESS
Correct entries: 71
@BrennerTJ's graphics leave me speechless!
Explanation: The four silly themers conceal SCORE, and the central spanner references a year SEVEN years ago from date of publication (although, if you're solving this in 2025 or beyond for some reason, that year does have a SEVEN hidden within!). These signal the famed "Four score and seven years ago" opener (and that is 4 x 20 + 7 = 87 years, a numeric tie-in!) from Lincoln's GETTYSBURG ADDRESS. Note Abe's full name around the grid also!
---
Winter Solvestice lasts until the end of this month, and it's fitting we're wrapping it up, since hopefully, it's all warmer weather from here on out - although around the region, you never can tell!

Didn't realize there was a puzzle today (I thought we were going bi-weekly) so I only saw it when I checked my email, but quick and happy solve. Not complaining though--thanks Mikey!

Back to biweekly in April! So this one, 3/23, 3/30, and then 4/13, 4/27, etc.
Thanks for solving! Sending good wishes to your Yankees!

I know exactly what the mechanism has to be. I just don't understand why MikeyG doesn't.
Actually I'm kind of serious. I'm going to have to consol with someone how to resolve one error.
Edit: oh. Now I get it. Nothing to do with fish. I just assumed with the cats....

Solved, with a lovely aha moment to boot!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
