Stared at this one for awhile, fell down a rabbit hole, clawed my way out, and swam to shore!
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

Joining the crowd on the shore
In the "I cudda been a contenda" category, after I opened the topic, I took my snowblower over to have the chute mechanism fixed, hopefully before the next significant snowstorm. And then there was dinner. If it had not been for these real life events, I would have been on page 1 (LOL)

Got started VERY late - and before I even looked at the puzzle, I checked to see how many pages of comments were HERE so that I could see what I was in for. Five pages - I found that inconclusive...
At any rate: ON SHORE.

A la playa. Un Moscow Mule, senorita. Pero será mejor que sean dos en vez de una.

As it did for Cruise Director Bob, real life - in my case, four hours in the garage waiting for installation of a new radiator - kept me from Thursday afternoon's true priority. Nevertheless, here I am, finally on shore, cartwheeling that I no longer leave a puddle of coolant wherever I park. (Don't eat the green snow.)
Have a good weekend, all. I retired at mid-month and am enjoying suddenly having a weekful of Saturdays.

I'm late to the party, but I am on shore. Loved the clue for 15a, classic crossword head fake (not a spoiler).

Ashore! This is one where I want to know more about how Gaffney constructed it and how he decided if a grid entry was too obscure. Fun though!
