Finally confidently on shore!! Thanks to a convo working some stuff out with a fellow Muggle, I was able to wash up on the beach a little banged up but still able to walk. A virgin Cuba libre, please.

Ashore, and agree with Kris Z. Curious about the other TV show that some think is the answer.

I have been informed by several folks that my submission was correct, so count me on this rather crowded shore!

Oh, and I had what I think was a legitimate alternate, it just did not hold up to rigorous examination like the correct one did, particularly after someone gave me the confirming piece.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Good afternoon muggle

First welcome to our two newest muggles - kjwilson89 and Bmacdo. Great to have more muggles.

This meta more than most is fraught with the opportunity to get to the shore and then have second thoughts. We have a beach for those who are on the right beach and those who are on an alternate beach. So when you see the list tomorrow, you may think that you are on the wrong beach or have gone back to the ship but the beach is all encompassing so we keep you there.

So far we have 8 on the ship and 139 on the shore.

This was me doing the meta this week. (actually at the top of Mt. Mansfield waiting for the cloud to clear which is never did). I can say that I have only seen one of the TV shows and have never heard of most of them. In some ways, I am still back with wiggling the rabbit ears on my B/W TV so I don't have to look for the (C) behind the listing in the paper or on TV guide.

Finally ashore. I had about ten TV shows that I could have defended, but the path was too sloppy for any of them to call it a true Gaffney meta. The correct path hit me while on the treadmill. Sometimes I just need to zone out for a bit to get that epiphany I'm seeking (and this doesn't just apply to the weekly meta).

Nope. I have what I assume is the first step but the answer I got doesn't show up as a TV show, so time to stare balefully at it for a while.

EDIT: my partner noticed something very important and we are firmly on shore.

I may have to tap out, I'm not pop culture savvy enough to even finish the grid let alone solve the meta

I'll just stop... at Isaac's bar! I've assembled the clues, but need to figure out the next step. I don't watch a lot of TV these days, but the reference to a "classic" show gives me some hope. I used to watch a ton of reruns in my youth. Winter was cold, and snowball wars, ice-skating, etc. could only be done for so long before needing to go inside and get a hot cup of tea. And watch "classic" reruns.

Good memory! I found the puzzle you're thinking of. I'll send a PM so I don't give any spoilers.

Ashore, and never gladder to be there. After last week's unsuccessful quest, I was looking for something more comfortable, more familiar. Like many here, I found neither, but I (re)learned a good lesson: If stuck, look at all the pieces (e.g., title, clues, entries, prompt), and if there's anything whose implication I don't understand, focus on that piece until I do understand what it's trying to tell me. The key to getting unstuck can rest with any of those pieces -- I shouldn't keep rehashing the pieces I have already figured out, because that's a sure path to giving up. What a beautiful beach this is.

Okay, I believe I am ashore. I thought I had a plausible answer, and the zoom room provided the click. Thank you! Not extremely satisfying, but fun.
