I was hoping for a solvable but interesting meta… and was not disappointed! Thanks Mr. Shenk… on shore.

On shore - really liked this one. I had the same experience as someone else. Struggled with the grid. Didn’t struggle too hard finding the metanism, but then had a twisty time getting to the final answer.

Firmly ashore.
Don’t bother me until I’ve had my coffee and done the crossword.

I figured the answer after three of the letters were determined last night. I needed to find the fourth. Slept on it and I believe I am on dry land.

Wow - I've got my best-ever streak going right now, but this one is completely flummoxing me. Clearly overthinking it. Hopefully, I figure it out before Mother's Day festivities!
