Once I filled out the troublesome grid, the meta mechanism was immediately apparent to me. Well, at least the first couple parts.. I'm left with a jumble of alphabet soup and it's too much for me to eat right now. Perhaps I'll be able to put it down at lunch.. otherwise I'll see y'all on the Zoom. ;)

Ashore!

Glad to find a sunny spot on what may become a crowded beach.

I'd love MaiTai please!

Made the last stroke much harder than needed to be.
All that was required was a simple dog paddle.
I’ll have an iced tea.

Everyone seems so confident in their answer, and I do not.

But it is a Gaffney puzzle after all, so who knows.

After closer inspection, I was in fact on the wrong beach.

Found the right beach - glad I hadn't submitted the wrong answer.

Ashore! Was working to complete the grid last night, realized the mechanism, but actually decided to shut it all down and get some sleep. I was well beyond page 1. It was tough to do that!

The grid gave me some real headaches, but once completed it was a quick swim to shore. Clever and fun!

I fear the MGWCC based on the "he's setting us up" spectre. Still a fun, if puzzling, solve and a relatively quick (though I suppose if you wait until Friday to start you are always going to be well behind on the Board) trip to the now impossible beach. Is that a spot over there? Drat, Cindy N and her dog just took it...well gotta keep strolling the beach.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Late start but quick to shore. Good weekend everyone!
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.

On shore. I'll wait until 5pm for a Balvenie 12yr.

I hope the bar has a large stock. It's gonna be an extremely crowded beach.

Ashore. On a bit of a run of late. Why do I think it won’t last?

Unlike my usual waiting until Sunday night to look at the meta, I made to shore quickly this week. Beer me.

As suspected, I was 90% of the way to the beach and just needed that last tiny Zoom nudge to stop overthinking things. Forgive my sudden disappearance from the party.. simultaneously running my space heater and electric kettle apparently trips my breaker! Good thing I'm on the nice warm beach now. 8-) I'll still have a tea, though.. cheers!

On the beach with zoomers help. I didn't finish the grid until after three as I just arrived home from three days at the Miami Open tennis tournament. So I'm going to pretend I could have solo solved if I had more time 🤪 very clever as always.

SOO, close to solving it without the Zoom room training wheels...but with their push, I am to shore. Ahhh
