Fun one. Still on the easier side, but I had to Google for some of the fill.

On the board. I was exceedingly tentative, though, for a reason I will say after the reveal.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

On the board. I didn’t see it right away because I flat-out didn’t know two of the themers. As for one I did know, four months ago I saw Jimmy Webb live at the City Winery. He didn't sing it.

My immediate (and wrong) reaction on seeing the title and prompt was "It'll be The 1975". Because, you know, teenage daughter and all that.
Then I thought...
Would he be aware of them?
Would he cover one of their songs?
Would he act like Matty Healy in performance if he did?
(check Youtube or watch them on SNL this weekend if you are unawares...)

On the Board......kinda had it based on half the answer....but I like @benchen71 was tentative about submitting, wondering if for the same reason.

Expect to be on the board with the next update. Didn’t get it right away. Stared. Tried a couple things.
My forehead still hurts from the head-slap.
Edit: On the board, as expected.

On the board after chasing a rabbit that seemed way too coincidental to be coincidental.

I don't know if Jimmy Webb ever really knew how to bake, but I'm certain he had the recipe to create a plethora of hits back in the day.Bird Lives wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:44 am On the board. I didn’t see it right away because a.) I flat-out didn’t know two of the themers, and b.) I got one of the ones I did know wrong because four months ago I saw Jimmy Webb live at the City Winery, and I’m not good at noticing year mismatches.

On the board but forgot to post until now, it did take me a while but not quite this long. Not a big fan of this band, but I'll be interested to hear the cover!

Looks like 7 people have got the red herring. Congrats! Think I'll take a look and see if I see anything promising.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Even with some really good hints from @dbmiller I’m not getting this one. And also someone on the muggle call but I’m sorry I can’t remember your name on here.

Have you tried reading aloud the relevant info?
