Ashore! I nearly pageanted myself by quitting too soon after reading how easy this puzzle was. Thankfully, I took a breath and reconsidered my answer.

Ashore. Quick solve - Nicely done meta. Liked it. Much appreciated change of pace from last week.

I suppose it was inevitable that one of these weeks I'd ruin my perfect record.

Ashore.

My father in-law, that old sailor whom I love dearly, turns 96 today, and I'm leaving work early for the party. In the finest naval tradition, sobriety will not be tolerated, so make it grog and hit me hard.
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Tough grid for me, but the meta answer came to me quickly. Happily on the shore well before the Zoom.. although I'll still probably make an appearance to say "hello" to my Muggle crew. :)

Looking forward to some home-brewed hard cider tonight!

Whew - what a finger workout - a fun puzzle and we have 162 on the shore already.

One of the great things about a meta like this is it brings out new muggles. This week we have three more muggles - Oxford Comma Mama, goosefish and moxy.

One of the fun things about being cruise director is the comments. Three fun ones this week
The two Beths are back in sync posting within a minute of each other at posts 35 and 38
And we have the sibling rivalry between Jay and Whimsy at posts 59 and 60
But the award goes to Al Sisti for his comment at #79 to Meg's comment about the shore and her cabana boys.

Yeah!! Oh, "hordes." Never mind.
That joke has shown up here before with the cabana boy, which of course begs the question of why he continues to use that word.

On shore, nearly a day later (and, since I'm between paydays, several dollars' short for the next round). This one took me longer than maybe it should, but dawn delivered a fresh perspective. Have a great weekend, all - Eagles fans included.

Ashore with help from my husband. I was getting worried since it seems there is already a large crowd on the beach!

Sheesh! Had a little trouble with the grid (I'm old enough to have watched Taxi in first run but it wasn't considered appropriate family viewing on our only TV), then got stuck on the meta, set it aside, and forgot about it until just now. Read a few comments here about how (the adjective that shall not be uttered) it is, flipped back over to the puzzle, and got smacked in the face with a mackerel that jumped out of the ocean and onto this boat I was stuck on. So now I'm ashore with the rest of yinz/y'all.
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.
