Hello hello! It's about halfway through the month, so it's mini-meta time!
This meta is also being sent in my Christmas cards this year (sending coal would've been equivalent), so there will not be a reveal to this when the next meta is posted, except to tell you how many solvers there have been. (Obviously, you can get instant feedback and count those who have "dropped the Mike" on Crosshare!)
This one should play like a Level 1 (please), but - as always - the grid en route to the meta might be a little crunchy in places!

The answer to the meta is a 6-letter word.
The deadline is whenever you want to.

Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Solved! Tres festive!!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

"Happy Christmas!" That’s what Ron and Harry say. Nice puzzle, Mikey.

Fun! I made a silly error with the fill which delayed the solve a bit.
My avatar proves that it is sometimes better to be lucky than good!

Excellent and occasionally challenging fill, but I particularly liked 34A and 26D.

I will have to do that on Friday or Saturday when the new puzzle drops (last Saturday of the month!). I was planning to withhold it to see if any of my Christmas card recipients solved it, but one did! (He's done each one every year, including a wild crostic-based hunt last year.) So I think we've gotten all the solvers out of this one!
Thank you so much, you muggles, for solving! See you on New Year's Eve and then into '23!
