Took a minute, but happy to be ashore with this holiday meta. Just a question for the more accomplished and experienced solvers, is it better to submit answers through the website or by email? Does one have a better chance of winning a mug???

I am onshore. I solved this morning while nursing a hangover from too much holiday fun the day before. I'll have multiple Coca Colas!

I'm neither accomplished nor experienced, but I do know the answer to this one: It makes no difference. Unfortunately, your chances are minimal at best. :( But the fun is in the trying.

🚢 🛶 🛳

Too busy to tackle this puzzle, which appears to be substantially a group solve.

On top of other things, had a credit card hacked this week which has proved a lot of trouble.

Merry Christmas and don’t get scammed. 🫵🙂

(I will print out the muggle meta for the pleasure later of the grid.)

Ashore, finally, after being on sort of the right track for a while. Wow, what a mechanism....

Oh Isaac, what a wonderful “eggnog” you’ve prepared! Tastes surprisingly like bourbon with just a touch of the nog.
Unfortunately, I have this meta puzzle that is not cooperating this weekend.
Better lighten my nog.
May every muggle’s stocking be filled with his/her very own mug!

Isaac looks great in his Santa hat, and has a great hangover remedy prepared to start the next one. Hopelessly perched on my usual barstool.

Merry Christmas all.

On shore, needed a nudge, trying not to get discouraged by my lack of solo solves. 😳 Merry Christmas and happy new year!

Still on the Ship

Au contraire -- Spending time in the stern garden with the magnificent light display Isaac's set up.
I'm recognizing that I need quiet and solitude for solving and there's been less opportunity for that here the last few days.
But it's all good!

Wishes to all this season for warm glows and all things merry and bright.

Ashore on the Biloxi beach and it’s (below) freezing! Guess I shouldn’t have been complaining 2 weeks ago that it was too hot to feel like Christmas!!

Stuck onboard. Not seeing anything but Isaac, who is wearing a festive Santa Hat. Having finished the grid Thursday evening, no meta solution at this point usually results in nothing. Maybe inspiration will be my Christmas gift....you never know.
Merry Christmas to all!!!

Finally made it to shore after a long slog through the snow and cold in Kentucky. Great aha moment. Happy Holidays to all.

Ashore thanks to a confirmation of the correct angle to take on this one. Not easy but great aha when you finally get it! Thanks, @mbryant !

Count me with Isaac.

Husband has Covid as of yesterday morning which has turned our family celebration upside down.

I am trying to focus on our many blessings while attempting to solve this meta, as a welcome diversion. Blessings - yes! Meta - not so much - at least not yet.

Sigh.

Merry Christmas to all the muggles. Send solving vibes, please.

Did the grid with the kids in person for the first time in.... a long, long time.

But we're stuck on the ship. Today was holiday prep, shopping, cooking, baking. Then off to my sister's for a family gathering. So we didn't get to work much on the... um... whatever that thing with the letters in the boxes is. But then you look for another thing that could be anything. Whatever all that stuff is called.

(Have you ever tried to tell somewhat what a meta-puzzle is without causing them to stare blankly? Or maybe they squint at you like you're crazy?)

But if it's a SAD puzzle, I'm stuck on the D. Haven't seen the S version yet.
