On shore, seeing the same issue as others and hoping I made the right choice.

Ok I’ll say I’m ASHORE. And will spend the extra time on older puzzles I missed from October.

Oh no... I just thought of something that could mean there's at least 3, but possibly 5 answers out there, depending on what you mght submit.

Monday is going to be quite a lively post mortem. I imagine the Sunday night Zoom session will also be quite interesting.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Just checking in from the Nambiti Game Reserve in South Africa to say I submitted an answer and am declaring myself ashore. (And I get until Monday at 7am to submit, though the puzzle didn’t come out until 7 hours later than at home, so… never mind.)

I didn’t actually finish the grid, which I found almost as hard as finding a reliable internet connection to download the puzzle. But I saw the answer without having to. Then I came here and found there is some discussion as to how many answers there are. While at first I thought, “Oh dear, did I submit an incorrect answer?” But, perhaps because I am a runner, the answer I submitted just seemed way too obvious and/or clear. So I’m not too worried.

Spending the weekend moving my DD, and solving partner, (Regfish7) to her first house! Will be here all week getting things cleaned , unpacked, etc and celebrating her first Thanksgiving in the house! She finished the grid but hasn’t decided on a beach yet for the meta! 😂 we have today to think it over!

On the beach! 🏖 🫖

Did I enjoy it? Not sure, but I would have been very annoyed if I got it wrong…

Like many others on here, I have two answers and one was more obvious than the other. So I will submit the less obvious, since it’s Gaffney, and now declare myself on a shore. The fact that there’s uncertainty between the two only means one thing for certain, and that is both answers are wrong!

Good Sunday morning muggles

A lot of interesting discussion about the 2/3/4/5 possible answers. Remember the Last Call zoom call tonight. Maybe we will conduct a poll on either what people believe is the right answer or what they submitted. Fun time

Oh, and we have 207 on the shore with these muggles joining the crowd on the beach

Done, Friday; and done, moments after. Tough grid.

A bad choice of running:

Okay, This is my opinion. If an answer fits completely but the constructor has made it so that a much hard solution also fits, it is unfair to say the easier answer that completely fits is wrong. It can't be wrong if it completely fits.

I've only come up with one answer that fits (although it has at least three variants-- but they are all the same answer) and I don't see anything else. But if there is one, it can't make my answer wrong as my answer fits in all ways.

Anyway, I've submitted. Maybe I just don't know what the other answer people are thinking and maybe it invalidates my opinion. (Possibly there is an answer that fits less than mine that people are seeing before they saw mine but I can't imagine that happening... anyone want to clue me in on the possible other answers?)

I will officially declare myself on shore. If it is the right one remains to be seen.

Finally getting around to declaring my on-shore status. My answer, and I am assuming it is the "easy" answer being discussed, came with only a third of the grid done. I decided not to spend time looking for alternatives, so will look forward to the reveal on Monday morning.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are spending the day at a family farm in Central Pennsylvania. Have to make three pies.

Ashore. Saw only one obvious answer and submitted. Curious what the others could be.

Once again I overthought the meta…I finally realized what it was while explaining it to my husband over Sunday breakfast. Good luck all! And Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃

I finally got around to completing the grid today. Looked at what I had and said "that's it!" But then the more I looked at it, the more I questioned why it was done that way. Discussing it with an occasional solve buddy, the response was "I stopped when I saw that." Still had that PAGEANT feeling to it, so I mentioned it to another muggle and they agreed with my puzzle buddy. But a further comment now has me more strongly than ever in the other answer category. Ugh!

I’m looking forward to this evening’s zoom (8PM Eastern) to see if anyone talks me into a different answer.

I’m currently thinking that the obvious one is the one Matt intended. Also going with the anti-intentionalist philosophy of art interpretation and saying that once the puzzle is out in the world, the intentions of the artist are not relevant. The puzzle is what it is and the best answer is decided by the audience (me!:)
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

I came up with one answer, a friend suggested a simpler answer, and after discussion we came up with the third. I wish this was a MGWCC, as the week number would help select the correct one. As a PAGEANT victim (and beneficiary of the dual acceptance) - I haven't had a wrong answer since that fateful Pageant Day, I'm going to submit the "Week 1" answer, and declare myself on shore with a good argument.
